PSP Lite launch delayed for the UK
The bad news keeps on rolling in for UK residents interested in picking up a PSP Lite. The redesigned handheld seemingly has been delayed nine days: from its "before the rest of the world" September 5th date to a much more somber "after the rest of the world" date of September 14th. No official response has been provided from Sony, but with no advertising, no AV cables, and a single color at launch, it seems Sony is poised to disappoint their European fans with a lackluster attempt at launching a new system.

Topic: That really sucks for the UK. I feel bad for them because they're always hassled by the games industry.

You are being SHITTED. It's actually just called PSP still but has a different model number (PSP-2000).

Sony has been doing a lot of this non-naming lately. Things that you would think would have a title for some reason dont. Like the Playstation Network, is just... the Playstation Network, instead of some catchy marketing name (like HUB, which was bounced around before launch). The new PSP is simple, the new PSP, or PSP-2000 if you prefer the model number identifier. This has spread farther than the PS division.
On my viao laptop, the software that one uses to operate the built in webcam is not some catchy name, its just "VAIO Camera Capture Utility", how utilitarian. It's wierd how some things get the marketing naming treatment, and other things glaringly dont.

Poor UK, you're saying? What about Germany, which is just a few miles away, but I've still not heard ANYTHING about a new PSP-launch here.

Hi,
I live in Belgium (Europe) and the PSP did manage to be released in time here. I bought my silver psp-2000 in Fnac today. I can't speak for the UK or Germany, but in Belgium, the basic packs pianoblack & silver are available for 169,99 euro.

I can confirm that the Piano Black and Ice Silver were available today (5 September 2007) for €169.99 in various shops (within Vasco da Gama and Columbo shopping centres) in PORTUGAL. The Artic White (my cousin's favourite colour) appears to be unavailable.
