After an incredibly underwhelming first appearance, the PSP version of Oblivion has disappeared. Constant delay after delay on retailer websites suggested troubled development, and if Kotaku's rumor can be believed, it appears the game is finally canned.
We can't say we'd be too shocked or too saddened by the loss of Oblivion on PSP. It wasn't shaping up to be anything like its console counterparts, and there's much better looking games to look forward to instead.
[Thanks, Joe!]

This makes me sad... I would've even loved a 2D one....
Maybe since I never saw this E3 version I'm still too hopeful.... but man, even a locked over head cam ala Baldur's Gate.... damn.
I hope they get it together and figure out some way to do it right. Silent Hill Origins managed it, about 8 months ago that game was on the verge of cancellation too.

Even with the above graphic (Screenshot) I would play it. I sure hope that the rumor is wrong in this one.

Bummer. I was kinda looking forward to this. We have too many similar Japanese RPGs, and I like the variety and different play styles of American RPGs.
How about Bethesda port over Fallout to the PSP?! That would be cool.

This is unfortunate but really not unexpected at this point.

As far as I understand it, the game was to be developed at the same Climax Team as Silent Hill Origins. So...maybe they just don't have the resources to continue right now, because of SHO?
