The keen eyes at The Sonic Stadium have noticed mention of Sonic Rivals 2 on various websites. Considering how the first was exclusive to PSP, we shouldn't be afraid to think that the sequel will also be heading to the handheld. Game Informer Online features a mysterious listing and a leaked retail release calendar shows the title releasing some time in November.
The first game wasn't too shabby -- although the execution was weak at times, the concept of turning Sonic into a racer was novel. Rivals, at the very least, included some fast and pretty visuals (albeit a sluggish framerate). Let's hope this potential sequel fixes the issues found in the first game.

oh man, that is being WAY too generous. I would say borderline "painful" and "want to cry about wasting money on this game"
Sega, if you want people to buy your game, then read people's lips. "WE WANT SOULCALIBUR, NOT SONIC"!!

not familiar with that expression, is that what fanboys say to people who don't like a horribly made games in order to justify their bad investment purchases?
who cares if the game sells? Does 1 million copies sold make Red Steel a good game? Does 1.7 million make DMC2 a good game?
6.9 from GameSpot
Official Playstation Magazine gives it a 3/10

Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan. The game was beautiful, but pretty shallow. I'd love a straight platformer with the same graphics engine. We went from Acid to Portable Ops. Why can't we go from Sonic Rivals/Racing to a true old school Sonic platformer?

How was Rivals bad, it was great to play I beat it with Sonic now I have to go back and do it with all the characters. I hope they do fix the issue with all the characters running at the same pace (sonic is as fast as [insert other character]) And they could also fix the audio levels, you cant hear their grunts and sounds even at the loudest volume settings.

kingofwhale, you know Sega has absolutely nothing to do with Soul Calibur. NamcoBandai owns all rights to the Soul Calibur series. Next time use a game franchise that a company owns, before you bitch about what game the company should make.

Yes, Kingofwale, Red Steel is a decent game. Just because gamespot gave ita 6.9 (and 6.9 is actually an 'okay-to-good' score - it's this satanic gaming community that's completely destroyed the perception of grading/rating games), doesn't mean the rating is gospel. It's their opinion - they're not gods - they're just people who have a view, just like you. Fortunately, you and Gamespot agree on something.
Having that said, I'll also concur that I wasn't thrilled by Sonic Rivals. DS got an F*N tight Sonic platformer, PSP deserved/deserves the same, with visuals like Sonic Rivals.

Sorry for the double-post. I hate it when this ****in thing won't up my whole message. Anyway:
"kingofwhale, you know Sega has absolutely nothing to do with Soul Calibur. NamcoBandai owns all rights to the Soul Calibur series" - LOL, Owned.
Personally I didn't like Sonic Rivals that much. I agree with vR (#4)... I'd rather have a 2.5D Sonic old-school platformer title, just like what Capcom did with Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins and the Megaman remakes. What do you think guys?
*2.5D: 2D gameplay, 3D graphics engine

They should do that or do a full 3d one like the console versions. Sonic Adventures is one of my favorite games of all time, so I'd love to see a game like that on psp.
Nevertheless, it's good to see another sonic game coming to psp.
