Adding some color to Game Boy emulation
Just as Technicolor added color to moving pictures, classic Game Boy gems await their colorized update. On the homebrew front, a new video from PSPHardwareHelp (after the cut) shows Super Mario Land running through an upcoming emulator for use on PSP. The notable difference between this and previous offerings is that this emulator converts black and white Game Boy classics into full color. It's certainly a remarkable achievement, one that Nintendo may want to capitalize on if they ever (wisely) bring Game Boy classics into the Wii Virtual Console.

Yup, it's true.
It's a beta build that PSPHackingGod got.
It's an emulator by Brunni, MMSPlus, that was updated to support Gameboy games. It can feature recoloring and stuff through the use of config files.
Keep on the lookout. It probably won't be release anytime soon because as I hear it, Brunni likes to finetune until things are more ready to go.

The GameBoyColor also colorized GameBoy games (you could spec 4-10 colors).

The Super Game Boy! That screenshot brings back memories. I still have one of those in my classic game collection in my game room.
Isn't the second screenie from Diamond on the DS, though? What does that have to do with anything? This emulator will supposedly colorize original Gameboy games. Diamond is a whole new game.

Don't worry, King of Wale likes to moronically compare Diamond's graphics to that of earlier Pokemon games. He's an idiot.

More like comparing Pokemon games of today with Pokemon games of the gameboy era and he is pretty much right, the same bullshit over and over again with some little improvements, 60% of the DS hardware is the same of GBA, so kudos for Nintendo, selling ancient technology and making people believe it's cheap and revolutionary...

I'm very excited excited to see where this emulator goes. And, I'm very excited to see this get on PSP Fanboy. A+ Site for sure. This is big in technology, and I applaud PSP Fanboy for putting it up.
I am curious to see how this coloring works...
