Sony's "Dude, Get Your Own" campaign is finally in full swing. The first of the ads to appear on prime time TV involves an overzealous passenger on an airplane completely entranced by his neighbor's PSP. What follows is 45 seconds of pure annoyance. While it gets the point across, this kind of advertising still feels immature: it fails to showcase the PSP's true capabilities, and doesn't seem to target a different audience than their previous ads.
Who thought the urinal ad was better?

The guy just yelled Cluster Bomb on an airplane and a marshal didn't put a bullet in his head?

I saw this commercial on Canadian TV and it was fantastic.
although I still love the urinal one because it's more provocative and more teen targeted.

>I think they need to follow the lines of those wii comercials.
You think Sony should hire some pre-teen jailbaits and pretend that console is capable of something a lot more than it could deliver, and then fake the enjoyment on people's face (in the commercial)?
Because from the time I've spent on Wii. It never feel as fun and i NEVER get to swing the Wiimote like that without the sensors going BAD.
Let's face it, commercial DOES sell, it sold 1 million Red Steel and don't tell me that game's gameplay was the reason behind it. ;)

It was good the first time seeing it. But know whenever I see it it's just annoying. The urinal ad was classic, much much better.

The urinal one is great and will certainly shift some PSP's in the lucrative 40-something, cruising-for-action-in-a-public-convenience demographic.
Not sure about the one on the plane though (can you even use a PSP on a plane? Doesn't the Wi-Fi mess with the navigation system??) The guy seems to think he's Jim Carey in Ace Ventura, and I don't mean that in a good way.

I have actually liked all of Sony's marketing so far. I think the 'Find Me' series of commercials was really well done.
but I do love the squirrels/rats/dustballs

I like the commercials, but I hope they show the features and some of the eye candy that is the PSP, otherwise it might as well be the uninspired DS. Put up some comparisons show graphics side by side and features !!!

I actually like the ad. The cluster bomb guy reminds me of Jack Black for some reason.
It's better than that other TV ad where the guy pees himself while playing PSP, what was up with that?

I think the commercial is fine. What they could do to improve though is just through a little tag line in there.
"Games , movies, music, pitures, internet. Sony PSP"
That way they could keep them simple/silly like they are but get to the features without banging them over peoples heads.

I think all the add from sony were great, but did they actualy worked...i dont think so. Were nintendo makes add that 5 yo people could understand, sony still base its campain on the hardcore side of the market. I think the piss one was awesome, but who the hell was it targeting? The people that have a psp already?
Show the world what the psp is able to do, and blow the public with some ff7 or god of war, or locoroco, or gps or mp3 playing....on the same line...
Imagine the same add, but with this DUDE actualy having a DS in hand, with NFS on it....with zoom on the screens... The guy loosing feeling to play its own console and paying more attention to the neighbour.
Message would be the same, but with this sarcastic plus that would make people understand that psp is far better ( not that i believe that, but the sega had with nintendont was really aggressive and worked for a while )

Its batter , its still in an evolutive process , but its deffinatly goes on the good way ... now if Sony would put some more effort in the online segment , and starts a new wave of commercials ,than will the PSPs really sell :)

The part that drives me nuts is that the dude isn't even playing a real game, as far as I can tell. Like... you've got a PSP. Dude, get some real friggin' games!
