Homebrew users are celebrating today: custom firmware 3.30 OE-A is now available to the masses. As
predicted, there are no major upgrades to be found in the latest revision of Dark_Alex's custom firmware. Those with homebrew-capable PSP systems will be able to install 3.30 OE-A, which enables both homebrew and legal PSP games to play on one machine.
Interested individuals can go to
PSP Gen to download the upgrade file.

as far as the black screen on snes emu goes, the "brightness" setting gets inverted when you load this emu, just hit brightness button and it should show. I just upgraded (3.03 oe-c to 3.30 oe-a) and it works fine, but cycling through brightest to dimmest, last setting shows up black, no image at all.

I've noticed the Location Free doesn't work. Just does nothing when you press the icon.

Hey everyone,
I’m new to custom firmware.
Some how I manage to run DevHook 0.50 on my fw 2.71.
But I don’t understant what “custom firmware” is all about, what it does, how and if i should install it, if so, how do I install it on my 2.71?
Thankx

first of all, only beginners that are trying to be cool use the
word
'noob'. second, the only reason to downgrade a custom firmware is if
you have a game that was released before your current firmware and is
not compatible. either way if you know what you are doing you can go
back and forth. i see no apparent reason to upgrade 3.10oeb to
3.30oea. i can live just fine without all the changes, the only
thing worth it would be the disc speed. i will wait for further
patches to 3.30oea. custom firmware is an emulation/patch over 1.5 being used as a base. so anyone using a custom firmware is still actually using 1.5
