"3.30 OE at first will not have any innovation except the fact of being 3.30. It will take time due to problems with the hardware. Right now the priority for the future is to radically change the core of OE, to eliminate the instability of the programming (that is especially evident in 3.10) and to gain some more space for the ram. But this probably will take several versions before it is finishing, due to the complexness of the process."
While homebrew users wait for the "next big thing," will Sony be able to provide a truly worthwhile feature in their upcoming official releases? Free wi-fi was just one step in this continuous battle between Sony and the homebrew community.

[Update: DCEmu reports that Dark_Alex may have broken his PSP. Whoops--he's purchased a new one and is going to continue working soon.]

What if they locked Beats to the last fw by making you prove it's legit? just like the T-Mobile Wi-Fi?

Wow, Sony's official update offers cool new features, while the homebrew community offers a useless update with no innovations whatsoever. The times they are a changing.

Are you for real, or being paid as a shill for Sony. Homebrew has given great features to the PSP, and even Sony has said they've taken notice to what the Homebrew community has been doing to make the official firmware better. Dark_Alex may have hit a wall with the current firmware, but it just means the firmware needs to be reprogrammed to be more streamlined and simpler.
P.S. Wow, I guess by broke they mean Dark_Alex bricked his PSP. This further shows how his custom firmware needs to be reprogrammed to improve the coding, so there's less chance of PSP's bricking.
P.P.S. Yeah, I miss Reboot too. It was an awesome show. Too bad there was no real conclusion, and there probably never will be.

Dark_AleX did not brick his PSP, it was merely a hardware failure on his UP unit which happened a couple weeks ago. So, he is waiting for a replacement which will arrive in a couple days.
OE development has already started though.

Yes, The Guy, it's true, you found me out. In fact, did you know that EVERYONE who says anything positive (even if tongue-in-cheek) about Sony has been paid by them to do so. As I write this, I am relaxing in a hammock on my beachfront property, all paid for by Sony for posting on bulletin boards.
Or, maybe I was just commenting on the irony of Sony apparently having caught up with the vibrant homebrew community in providing functionality to their own system.

I flashed my PSP to OE fw and I'd hate to say it but I regret it. It seems to be kinda flaky and I would love to have free tmobile wifi. The main reason though was that of all the functionality, the only thing I wanted to do was download a bunch of ISOs and get my pirate on. I'm gonna go back to SE fw to rid myself of the temptation.
