A few days ago we found out about the story of David Jaffe's Heartland. The aim of the title was to have a game that would make a gamer cry. Since that game is dead in the water, it made me wonder if there already were games on the PSP that could make me cry. I haven't yet had it happen with a PSP title, but unfortuantely for me, I don't play every game that comes out. Until they release Klonoa PS1 as a PSP download, I'm not sure there's a PSP game out there that can make me cry. Am I wrong? Is there a PSP game that's made you cry? Do you admire a game that can achieve that emotion or do you only want the emotion of joy from playing games?

I don't think a game has ever made me cry, period. Which is odd because I watch anime and read manga and they occasionally get me all misty-eyed...

Unfortunately, there's been no PSP game out so far that's made me cry.
But one game that did make me cry a little bit was Phantasy Star II for the Genesis. I don't want to spoil the scene that made me cry for you, but people who've played the game should know what I'm talking about.

A psp game that made me cry was Lumines 2. If you listen to the hardcore feelings of certain songs it will get to you.

I haven't come across a game that's made me cry yet (though, like you said, I haven't played 'em all).

I cried while playing Metal Gear Portable Ops, every time Snake died. By the end of the night, my face looked like a prune.

No form of entertainment media has ever made me cry. I will say that horror movies definitely scare me. So, a movie can cause a reaction in me, just not crying.

Never. Sadly there has never been a video game that can spur my emotions unlike films or books.

Only one game made me cry: Crusaders of Might and Magic for the PSOne. The ending made me cry because I was fighting the final boss and then he just got stuck in a corner. I fought him for 2 1/2 hours and nothing. Then I found out that 3DO never finished coding the game. I cried when I realized how much of a piece of $h1t that game was, lololol. Now I'll never know the ending... Damn you 3DO.. Damn yooooooooooooooooooouuuu!!!!!

An emotional gaming experience isn't a real good fit for a portable system. The types of games that work well on portables just usually don't evoke any kind of emotion (other than anger maybe). However, there are several console games that have made me cry. The worst of which is Final Fantasy X. Not only did I cry like a baby at one scene when I was playing it, but I cried again when I was watching my wife play it at the same point. Offhand, I can't think of another game I've cried at, but I know there are some.

The closest one for my recently has been Tales of Eternia, only because one of the characters that I liked had to unfortunately do something heroic unexpectantly and risked his life!

the only PSP game that has made me cry is Dave Mirra BMX. It made me cry because of how awful it was.

It's all about suspense of disbelief, as they say... If its portable or not doesn't really matter, if you truly immerge yourself in the game. Although there's obviously a treshold to crying when playing short bursts in public transportation.

I didn't cry, but there's a certain death scene in Vice City Stories that made me sad. Two minutes later, though, I had butchered my way to a 6-star wanted level and felt better.
