Next Generation has the top 100 selling games for 2006 and the only PSP exclusive game on the list is Daxter coming in at number 92 with 240,000 copies sold. That sounds quite bad on paper until you realize that multi-system games make up most of the list and the vast majority had a PSP iteration (like Family Guy and NFL Street 3). So while there may not be many PSP exclusives on the list, it did undoubtedly help several titles on the list reach their respective positions. I would be very curious to see the overall year's worth of just PSP games. I also can't help but hope that this week's Ratchet & Clank fairs as well as Daxter. What PSP game that didn't make the list do you wish was a top 100 seller?

Hope? Here's my logical prediction for Ratcher and Clank: "It will sell!"
Seriously, people don't realise the captivating replay value in games of such a genre that support infrastructure mode. This will do better than Daxter, for sure!

I'm gonna be helping R&C climb the sales charts by buying it new, something I almost NEVER do. We need more quality games like that, and showing support is the best way to get studios to keep making them.

I'd love to see a PSPFanboy review. I've never played this series and I'm really anxious to find a game other than Lumines and Every Extend Extra that I like, that's original. So I'm interested.

PSP is doing great. Being number 2 =/= dying.

Re #8 "PSP is doing great. Being number 2 =/= dying."
What about 3rd of 3? *That* is where the PSP is right now in its 'best territory' (USA)
Look at the 2006 numbers:
DS 6,049,000
GBA 3,828,500
PSP 3,431,500
SO if we attribute the DS as all 'kiddie sales', then why is the GBA still selling so well?
Also, back on the subject of 'Top 100 Games', a point was made elsewhere that the PSP is very often part of multiplatform efforts and contributed to sales of those games. I see that is true, but just wonder where that actually made a difference? A couple of thoughts:
- Madden was a top PSP seller (for good reason, it is a strong game ... couldn't imagine it on the DS)
- Racing was the lowest selling genre ... and one of the strongest for the PSP.
- RPG's were also a very low seller, but figure heavily on the PSP (certainly for me!).
I think that it does matter that ~35% of top 100 games were exclusives, and of those ~40% were DS exclusives! Factor in ~25-30% PS2 exclusives and almost everything else is sports and licenses.

Even 3rd of 3 isn't bad. So long as it is selling to some degree. But damn, I wasn't aware of those numbers.
Shit?!
