Pocket Gamer recently polled its readers, asking what feature it would most want in the next-generation PSP. The most requested feature? Dual analog sticks. The older demographic of the PSP has made it a hotbed for more mature games, like first person shooters. However, the single analog nub simply doesn't do the genre justice. The addition of a second analog stick would help ease player's ability to navigate through the PSP's already-detailed 3D worlds. Although touch-screen support didn't win, it came in mightily close, in second place. Of course, if Sony did put a touch screen in the next system, people would accuse them of copying a crucial control feature from another company. Not that they've ever done that before...

Built in phone?? That's all the 12-16ers wanting to sneak in a cell phone to class.
I don't discount the value of a touchscreen, but when video out and internal storage don't top the list, you have to wonder if they're asking the right people (or the right questions).

If there was a phone built-in, I would at least have an excuse that I carry my baby everywhere I go. Aren't your friends making fun of you because of your PSP that seems to be glued to your hands? :)

I have to agree with pixelator, although one obvious fact remains; dual analog is a number 1 priority to me. Though, I still do not see how it could not be accomplished via USB attachment. Simply click to the bottom of the PSP.
Having video output though would strengthen the PSPs market as a true portable entertainment device. Also helping the value of the UMD format.
Well stated pix.

Ditto with pixelator: I don't really need video out, but internal storage would be sweet.
A touch screen would probably mean a total redesign, something Sony has no appetite for at the moment. Another analog stick would be nice. And oh, please, make them ABOVE the D-pad and face buttons this time.

The most probable reason a second analogue stick is the top choice is because that was my and a lot of other people's #1 problem with it when it launched. Besides that, I think that internal storage would be my 3rd choice. My #2 choice would have to be homebrew support and allowance.

I don't understand how putting the analog sticks above the d-pad would help *stares at the screen in confusion*. Ah, but who knows... could work.
But dual analog is one of my most wanted things for the PSP. I might actually start playing it again.

WHY IN GOD'S NAME IS SONY EVEN CONSIDERING MAKING ANOTHER PSP? The Japan market that Sony loves and holds dear to their heart don't even buy the current PSP. Why fork out more money to design, produce, and market something that isn't selling well now?

well one thing sony could develop for the current psp would be a higher capacity battery with a built in bluetooth adaptor. that way people could use headsets, connect to the PC/mobile phone, and even use those virtual keyboards.i dunno if that is possible but it's an idea.
And why the hell hasn't anyone released a psp add on keyboard yet??
