According to Game Watch, the impressive-looking Jeanne d'Arc may be responsible for the insanely quick 3.01 firmware turnaround. 3.0 seems to have a glitch where the UMD load times were significantly increased for that game. Apparently, some users were experiencing game crashes, where players would be stuck at Loading screens. Strange. Could any other games be afflicted by strange 3.0 firmware glitchiness?

Yeah, actually I haven't had the chance to upgrade to 3.01 yet from 3.00 and I've been having some strange issues. Like games hanging up on loading times and then turning the system off, like it's possessed. It's a little scary - I'm afraid my psp's gonna start shooting umds across the room!

Me, I can confirm another apparent glitch: Tapping the power switch does not send the system to sleep mode while running MK Unchained. In fact, it doesn't do anything!
I'll have to upgrade to 3.01 to see it helps.

I have a japanese psp and before I updated mines to the news update it worked my games fine until last night, where the game wouldn't even load. it wouldn't show the UMD icon on it. After I upddated it, it wouldn't even run...anyone have any problems? or how can I solve this? because I don't want to get another PSP ; ;
