Circuit City, GameStop, Target, and Toys "R" Us will be receiving the
PlayStation Spot service later this month. Japanese and European PSP owners have been enjoying this wireless download service for the past few months. According to
IGN, the American versions of these kiosks will stream "game demos, movie trailers, music clips, mini-strategy guides, wallpapers and more" to your PSP.
The first set of available downloads will be quite extensive.
Outrun, Worms, Dungeon Siege, MLB 2006, Ultimate Ghosts and Goblins, Lumines 2, Every Extend Extra, Race Driver 2006, and
Daxter will all be available at the program's launch. By January 2007, the service is expected to expand to 6000 retail locations.

Good to hear, I've been wanting these spot things to come state-side.
By saying that Gamestop is getting them, does that mean that EBGames will be getting them too?

Well, that's good news. Target and other stores have already had DS download stations for some time now.
Hopefully this'll churn out some new downloadable (aka keep once you leave the PS Spot) demos, too - the list of games mentioned is enticing.

probably a stupid question, but do these demos act like any other downloadable demo (by being put in the game folder until i delete it) or will it delete upon me turning off my PSP (and for the record, my PSP sleeps neway so not turning it off if not that big a deal for me)

EB Games (aka Gamespot) and the Sony Store at the Metreon in SF have these.

The PS3 kiosk should do the PSP demo downloads. This would show off the connectivity.
