S.PORT brings replays to PSP

London's Arsenal fans better pack their PSP systems with them when traveling to their next game. Sony is introducing a prototype streaming program called S.PORT which will allow PSP owners to see replays, stats and other game scores via a wireless feed within the Arsenal Football Club.

"It will allow you to check to see whether or not a player really was off side", said Eric Siereveld, Director of Retail Transport Venues at Sony. There's a lot that Sony will have to address before the program goes live, such as whether or not it can work on other devices. If the services proves popular enough, there's no reason not to expand it: "It could be used at any stadium around the UK, or even a golf match where it is sometimes hard to see the ball flying through the air."

According to Pocket-lint, a trial is expected to begin shortly.

Cops ignore need for help, play PSP instead

Thirteen people were killed in violent storms through England, and two police officers certainly didn't help. "They were oblivious to everything else," the photo taker notes. These officers were completely entranced by the PSP.

The Metropolitan Police said: "The use of the games console was inappropriate and unprofessional. Senior officers are dealing with the matter."

PSP gamer beaten up on train, APB for DS fanboys declared

PSP gamer beaten up on train, APB for DS fanboys declaredYa know, there comes a time when these "fanboy wars" go too far. And I think this incident is a perfect example.

"A 22-year administrative assistant, who is originally from Hong Kong, was playing his PlayStation Portable when he was surrounded by a group of four or five youths. One of them snatched the games machine from his hand, but when he tried to get it back the whole gang jumped in and began punching him in the face and body.

The train pulled into Hornsey station and the youths got off, but the victim bravely followed and grabbed hold of one of them. He was then set upon again, punched repeatedly in the head and knocked unconscious. The gang fled leaving the man laid out on the platform, before other passengers came to his aid. He was taken to hospital for treatment but released later that day."

This is most definitely the work of those vile and evil DS fanboys! Even though the guy ended up getting his butt kicked, you have to give him credit for not going down without a fight, though.

In all seriousness, though, this is a despicable act, and I really hope the police find these punks. If reading about this incident pissed you off like it did me, this video may make you feel better.

Gangs of London giving away a real diamond

The UK branch of Sony seems to have a lot of fun. This unique promotion for Gangs of London encourages you to find clues hidden in the real world to find a real diamond worth £10,000! This has the potential to be a heck of a lot cooler than the actual game itself. You're going to have to go to Nick the Diamond's website to register and start the hunt.

I wish I could play too!

Passport to London is your somewhat dumb guide to London

Eurogamer has reviewed Sony's interesting non-game, Passport to London, which acts as a guide of sorts to one of Europe's most popular destinations. The idea of this software is pretty interesting: for example, let's say you're walking around and want to find a museum nearby. Or, how about a hotel? When the sun sets, of course you'll want to find a pub of some sort. Passport also includes pictures, videos and audio features: it has a very Talkman-like feature that gives you some popular phrases translated across multiple languages.

While Passport seems to be an intriguing idea, the execution appears to be weak, at best. There is a distinct lack of information: there's only four pubs, one theatre, and even the more famous restaurants like Nobu are nowhere to be found. The review concludes that Passport is "a missed opportunity." Hopefully, future versions will allow for some more interesting features: GPS integration, internet access (so you can make hotel reservations via wi-fi), and downloadable updates are just some of the few ideas that are popping up in my head.
