Things to do with the money you saved with the PSP price drop

Anyone getting the PSP Core for $169 is saving themselves a nice $30 off the previous regular retail price. With savings like that, some new PSP owners may be wondering what to do with the money saved. Being the helpful folks we are, we're going to give you a few suggestions.

  1. Buy a PSP game (after all, you need something to play in your new handheld)
  2. Buy a memory stick (because a PSP without a memory stick is a sad PSP)
  3. Get a travel case (so you can take it all on the go
  4. Buy a Japanese Adult UMD (you know why already)

PSP gets even lower price: $170 for Core

Ever since GameStop reduced the price of the PSP Value Pack to the price of the Core System ($199.99), we expected the Core System to drop in price as well. Looks like our suspicions were true. Starting tomorrow (April 3), all GameStop and EB Games locations will drop the PSP's price down to a paltry $169.99--a savings of $30.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII screenshot blowout

The Magic Box has a plethora of screenshots for the upcoming Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, a prequel to FFVII starring Zack. There is also artwork included showing some of the game's characters, including a sketch on Cloud. What's even more interesting is the addition of the character on the right, who seems to be in possession of the Buster Sword. Every trickle of info that comes in about this game gets me more and more excited.

Happy birthday, Lara!

On this day, 38 years ago, a child was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and a loaded glock in her hand. This would normally make for an interesting opening to what could be an autobiographical opus of human achievement, but instead it’s little more than chintzy marketing-speak for an assortment of polygons and normal-mapped hoochie shorts. But, hey, we love Lara anyway. So here’s to you, Lara; here’s hoping that Tomb Raider Legend for the PSP doesn’t stink.
