11. Mog -- Final Fantasy VI
Moogles, just like chocobos, have been a long-time mascot for the Final Fantasy series. It's difficult to ignore not putting one on this list, but it's definitely not hard to choose the right representative for this cute race of pompon-headed furballs. Mog from Final Fantasy VI is the obvious choice; he's been featured on the game's North American box and he would probably be the best fighter out of the lot of them. Mog's weapon is the spear. It's quite an interesting weapon choice considering that Mog is probably almost half the size of a full length polearm. This means that he'll have an extensive attack reach, and will also end up being an onerous target to hit. Mog's special ability in Final Fantasy VI was the "dance" skill which gave him a set of attacks depending on the terrain of the battlefield. In the original game, he would go into a trance and would be uncontrollable for the duration of the battle. In Dissidia, however, we don't think it would be fun to lose control of Mog; so we'd scrap the trance, and instead make his added repertoire of moves an automatic bonus. This means if he's fighting in a castle environment, then he'd have an added set of attacks specific for that arena. Then he would lose those abilities, while gaining new ones, when fighting in another arena. This sort of changing move set probably makes Mog a difficult character to master; however, factor in Mog's size and reach advantage, and then it all evens out.
