13. Sabin R. Figaro -- Final Fantasy VI

Once upon a time, this king-to-be gave up the throne of Figaro to live a life of freedom. Following one's heart takes a lot of guts, and a lot of discipline ... which is probably why Sabin became a hermit studying the martial arts. It's also the reason why we admire his character so, and exactly why he's at our #13 spot. Sabin may be on this list because of that reason, but an even stronger reason is that his character is perfectly synonymous with this type of gaming genre. His "Blitz" ability took design roots from fighting games, mimicking combo inputs found in similar SNES-era games such as Street Fighter II. It would make complete sense for Sabin's abilities to translate well into an actual fighting game like Dissidia. Hopefully the developers agree, and we'll actually get to see this dream realized.
