1. Tifa Lockheart -- Final Fantasy VII
There is no one more deserving of our #1 spot than Tifa Lockheart -- Final Fantasy VII's female brawler. Often a character under the spotlight, even one time becoming team leader, Tifa could have possibly been FFVII's hidden second main character. Okay, maybe that's stretching things too far; however, it's undeniable that a lot of FFVII's plot points revolved around her. There's Tifa's past in Nibelheim, and then there's her involvement in the infamous love triangle -- just to name a few. Despite the powerfully tragic death of another female lead, Tifa's influence on FFVII's story is evermore impactful, and one that ranks her as one of Final Fantasy's greatest heroines. Now we've always liked Tifa's martial arts abilities, but we were thoroughly impressed after seeing her flaunt new moves in Advent Children. When we first heard about Dissidia, she was the very first character that came to mind as the game's style reminded us of Tifa's ultrahigh adrenaline fight scenes. Combining those smooth moves with Tifa's limit breaks, and we've got a combatant that personifies what Dissidia's "dramatic progressive action" is all about.
