During the E3 keynote, Sony briefly noted that they wanted to expand the PSN's "universal ID," and we asked Yoshida if that expansion could hit the PSP. We asked if using the same PSN ID from the PS3 can access a universal Friends list on the PSP. His response? "That's the plan."
Already, implementing the PLAYSTATION Store directly on the PSP is in the works. It won't be too long before we see even more features of the PS3 popping up on the PSP: Friends lists, messaging and who knows what else ... trophies, perhaps? Stay tuned in the coming days for the full itnerview.

Great news! Hopefully they can add DivX support and removing those lame video restrictions to that list.
Also, I think it's too late for trophies for the PSP. It's already been 3 years since the PSP launched and some game devs would never bother going back into games and putting in trophies because they know their games were pirated.

Well, yeah, I definitely wouldn't expect devs to put in retroactive support, but new games, sure. And that's good enough, really.

But what about all of those games that were just born for achievements?? Like Patapon, God of War, FFVII: Crisis Core, Syphon Filter, Crush, Castlevania: Dracula X, Megaman, etc.
WHAT ABOUT THOSE??

Really, this should've been implemented long ago. Who knows how long it'll take? How long has it taken them to get Home out, anyway?
But no, 'piracy' isn't going to keep developers from putting trophies in games. They won't go back to add them, but piracy isn't why... And I really find it sad how many PSP owners are willing to let Sony and other devs off the hook by citing piracy in every other post. We're the freaking END USERS, guys. We're getting left out in the cold. They're using US as the scapegoat for that, and you're enabling it. Lame.

But you can't deny the truth. Everybody here has seen those piracy numbers PSP Fanboy posted up back in March. Patapon was downloaded 100,000+ times. Off of ONE website. AND IT WAS ONLY $20 AT RETAIL.
If that isn't solid proof that PSP piracy is truly at its worst then I don't know what else to show.

I want to be able to cross off icons on my XMB.
I want to go to system setting and say:
"Don't show internet radio icon"
"Don't sow internet search."
"Don't show PSP Camera icon."
I WANT THESE OPTIONS. FORGET TROPHIES!
I WANT INCREASED FUNCTIONALITY!
