Metal Gear Solid digital comic may skip PSP, go to DVD
Japanese retailer Game Star has listed a 2-disc DVD release for a new Metal Gear Solid digital comic, which includes both retellings. The planned release is June 12th, the same day as the PS3-exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4. Certainly, a DVD release would be more viable, and there are ways to get DVD content on to a PSP. We'll have to wait for more details.

One of the coolest features included in the UMD release of the first comic was the fact that you could pause the movie and explore each frame in multiple dimensions, and unlock elements which lead to more bonus content. DVD will be a great format, but these cool features will be lost. Pfff.

It should be AT LEAST made on Blu-ray so that these same features could be included.
I still hold out hope for a UMD version though, come on Konami!

DVD would mean more people could get it, but i'd prefer it on my psp.
In another article, someone asked if its "US Gamers Day" tommorrow. He thought it would be weird, as there was one recently. The recent one was "Playstation Day."

Yeah more people could get it on DVD. But considering a lot of the people would would buy this would also buy MGS4, and thus have a Blu-ray player, it makes sense to me to retain all the features of the original and make it interactive using BD Java.

Okay DVD is a bad move Konami. We need at least Blu-Ray so we can search for the extra content. I think it should be on PSP. I loved watching and searching for clues. PSP is also selling like crazy in Japan, why now abandon the platform?

I don't think i care... when the hard cover comes out in july i'll lean towards that. Though for the japanese, they have voices for the words... so that might just be for japanese viewers.
