The availability of the PSP-3000 image on the PlayStation site shouldn't come as a signal that a redesign is impending -- it's clear that Sony plans on revising the hardware through its supposed ten year life cycle. However, it does seem to display a bit too much forethought from the web designers that created and uploaded this image. How long will it take before we hear rumblings of yet another PSP redesign?
[Thanks, GSK!]

A redesign before 2010 would be a big FU to those who bought the slim (mysel included) if you ask me.

Just like the Slim was a big FU to those of us who put faith in the system in the first place? Well it wasn't really, I couldn't care less about Skype.
I wonder how exactly they can improve on the system without rendering the previous versions obsolete? Force feedback? Hello, 1 hour battery life! Maybe some of that debated phone functionality, but I can't really see it.

There was at least 2 years between the original and the slim. Hence why i said no 3000 series until 2010.

Think tomorrow's rumour will be 802.11n, 3G, and an automatically spawned Cheese Croissant every morning.

Of course this comes out a mere 48 hours after I bought my Daxter packaged PsP...
Back to the store it goes and wait a month or two to see what shakes out.

Wow... I sold my original PSP so I could get the Slim. I wonder if the slim will last 2 years before they officially announce the 3k model?
Maybe this is a placeholder for the PSP Phone that we have heard rumor about?

That's the only logical reason Sony would have for posting a 3000-series label.

If the PSP-3000 fights back against CFW (by doing something to prevent Pandora's) then count me out.

Well I for one could care less if the new PSP comes out tomorrow or in five years. Just as long as Sony does what Apple does with the ipods. Each new version is better then the last but apple still supports the older one too.
So may be version 3000 could just have 4 gigs or so of built in memory. So you could use that instead of having to buy a memory card.
So that would be all that is different. I think new versions of the PSP like that would not get people mad if they already own a PSP.
