Pictures from the Crisis Core launch event
According to Ryoga, the premiere was an "inflated event just to buy the game. No frills, no glam like the other events in the past." You can check out the no-frills event yourself by checking out Ryoga's Flickr here.

Pathetic Combat, crappy voiceover but good graphics.
Kratos please take this UMD and crush it now!

There was a huge line, and they ran out of tickets right before my position in line. The Square-Enixbots told us that we were out of luck and should just go home. Lame. Apparently some people had waited in line since 9 am to buy the game or get their Shinra ID cards. Oh well. At least there was that one Sephiroth guy.

So is the game good?,I heard the game didn't live up to its hype and that is just a reminder of FFVII which I never played.

All the reviews I've read have said that this is quite possibly the best handheld game ever made (quite the claim to be honest .. and I'm talking "review" -- not "preview" where they hype it and then rate it poorly in a subsequent review).
Whatever the case may be, I *have* played (and loved) FFVII and so shall be playing this (when I have time ... I got the game, but it's still in it's shrink wrap .. too much to do ... in fact, I'm wasting time as we speak, argh).

Let me rephrase that ... a couple of the reviews I've read have called it quite possibly the best handheld game ever. Everything else I've read just say it's great (even more so if you've played the original).

I'm about 3 hours into it.. eh.. Its nice. But not the end all be all of handheld gaming. It feels a lil slow to me. But the voice acting, effects, and over all visuals of the game make of for that. its a good game, just not worth the 4 year wait for it.
Could have been done it 2

It's a great game IMO. I'm like 6 hrs. thru and I havn't enjoyed a PSP game this much in a long time. But maybe I'm a little biased... since I love everything FF7 (Except maybe DOC)

... I'm an hour into it (about 20 minutes of that sitting idle watching roommates play Rock Band).
I heard (in many places) that the game was too easy, so I said to myself "okay ... I'll play it on hard." Garh ... whoever said it was easy was lying through their teeth. I can't get past the first (real) friggin' mission. I get halfway through before getting raped by those creatures that cast Fire. I'd try again, but in order to do so, I'd have to watch the cutscene again and fight the twenty peons that lead up to them.
At this point .. I'd rather sleep.
Good game though ... just ridiculously hard (on hard mode at least).
