Can the debacle end? Although the game was never officially canceled, we safely put Oblivion behind our backs, sure that the title will never rise again. Especially because retailers were canceling pre-orders. And trust us -- retailers never want to do that.CVG thinks differently due to a new Amazon listing for the game, with a ship date of June 30, 2008. Bethesda's response? "[We] still aren't talking about what's up with Oblivion PSP. We'll let folks know when that changes." Really? Can't you tell us if the game ... y'know, exists?
Our souls tire from this debacle. Please, Bethesda. Stop toying with us!

Please release the game - I am wanting this one game more than any other PSP title! I'm hoping it will be everything I want, unlike the mild disapppointment of D&D Tactics...

Who gives a shit? Oblivion was shit for the PC - the only good thing, the graphics. The PSP cannot support quality graphics to topple the utter shit that was/is Oblivion. So who gives a shit?!

My two guesses are: First, Maybe this game's gonna get released after all... someday. Second, I think this whole disinformation campaign thing aims to somehow lower the pressure on programmers brought by hype (So they can polish the game enough for release).
Yeah, maybe it's a little far-fetched... but it's just a theory.

It wouldn't surprise me if this game was written off a while ago then brought back thanks to the unlocking of the CUP. Perhaps the PSP can now do just that little bit more and allow Bethesda to realize their portable vision for Oblivion.
Whether or not thing ever gets released I'd be very interested to see what exactly they planned on doing with it. Surely the whole game can't fit on a UMD so it'd have to be a condensed version with a smaller map and fewer quests. I'd like to be able to transfer my game between PS3 and PSP or just make it playable via remote play and all problems solved!
What would you like to see in a portable Oblivion?

I was expecting mostly 1st or 3rd person dungeon crawling, melee, ranged and magic combat, leveling up and collectibles. Tie the maps together with some cool stories that make the fetch quests worth it and voila, portable Oblivion. The wide-open world is a bad idea on a portable so make the map and the shops navigable by a simple 2-D interface items.

And Play.com in the UK have it listed as being available on 1st March... http://www.play.com/Games/PSP/4-/3245625/The-Elder-Scrolls-Travels-Oblivion/Product.html
I like Ed's idea of dungeon-crawling, but instead of tieing it together with a 2d map, how about cut scenes with dialogue letting you pick missions (or dungeons) from your guild master (or something similar)?

Wouldn't it be kind of cool if what they're doing is some kind of crazy Remote Play functionality that'd let us play PS3 Oblivion on PSP? I don't know how they'd go about it, but it would be purdy durned kick arse.
