A long time ago, we reported that references to Skype were hidden in the PSP's system code. Looks like these hints may become something more at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Sony CES website has a brief mention of Skype in their text (see picture, above). Will we see a new firmware revision that takes advantage of this oh-so-desirable feature? We hope so.
[Thanks, Jorge H.!]

Nice to see...especially the word "Skype". By that I mean, it should be true Skype, and not some BT Skype-clone, or similar copycat system (like which has been mentioned previously). I would hate to install some program (on PC) only to talk to PSP users...

I think the feature listed just above that is even better, what about on demand TV to the PSP?

on the ces website, when you watch the video for the psp, it shows a girl plugging a phat psp into a tv! (hint hint) that would be cool.

I actually meant to respond to your PSP predictions thread with this very thing!
Yah for Skype...now bring the Go Cam or give me a dongle mic so I dont have to use those headphone/mic combos that are WAY too expensive.

hey Kspraydad, you can always make some yourself, its not hard at all...
And if you happen to run into trouble, you can always check guides online on how to make them, that was the "bom" talk when the first PSP Socom game came out, heh

Linky?
For my self I do have the headset/mic already...it would be nice though so just have a small dongle as a mic and use the PSP speakers (IMO)...that's where the Go!Cam comes in handy....
Hope they bump it to 3 mpx before releasing it in the US.

I guess it'd be good to use if you're in some other country and don't have access to a phone - but how often would that happen?
