PSP Prediction #1: New limited edition PSP bundles with high-profile games and peripherals.
SCEA will release a special gold PSP-2000 system that includes God of War: Chains of Olympus and a Memory Stick for $200. Maybe it'll look something like the fan-made system? We hope so. Also, we're hopeful that Square Enix will release a limited edition bundle with Crisis Core, just as they did in Japan. Finally, Sony will release a PSP system bundled with GPS in the US.
PSP Prediction #2: The PSP Store will debut a huge franchise exclusively for download.
The PSP Store will get a major game exclusively for download. Don't be surprised if we see either a new LocoRoco or Metal Gear Solid game that'll be available on the Store only. We expect announcements at GDC and E3 later this year.
PSP Prediction #3: Square Enix will bring tons of PS1 love to PSP.
PSP fans will find that Square Enix will resurrect many of its long-forgotten PS1 franchises back to the PSP. They will finally allow PSP owners to download PS1 classics (at a premium cost) and will resurrect yet another classic PS1 game for a remake on PSP.
PSP Prediction #4: Sony will release tools to program widgets for PSP.
This is probably our most ambitious prediction. Sony will finally go after the homebrew crowd by creating a way of creating widgets and applications for the PSP. They will load from Memory Stick in a separate section of the XMB. Users will need the most recent official firmware to continue using their applications. Sony will release a few example widgets, such as a calculator and weather tool.
PSP Prediction #5: Video playback will be enhanced in future fimrware revisions.
The slightly broken limitations of PSP's video playback will be removed. Gamers will be able to watch videos of any size up to 720x480 pixels -- including 640x480, so often used in podcasts. Other codecs will be added to PSP, such as MPEG-2 and DivX.
Will we be as lucky with our predictions as we were in the last two years? We hope so! We'd love to all of these predictions come true. Heck, we'd be happy with just one of them. Let's hope someone at Sony is reading this post and is making this happen.

I think a few of these will happen. I think the new PSP bundles will be a given.
I also see more big PS Store only games.
As for SE I hope that is true SE has some great games and I think they would be great on the PSP.
I really hope Sony will allow Homebrew. Because that would be big a great news.
I also hope Sony will allow the full use of the Video on the PSP.
Also on a side note will you have any other predictions. like what kind of game PSPFanboy thinks will come out on the PSP.

A God of War PSP bundle would be great, even if it just came with the game and a different colored PSP. I'd like to see a white God of War PSP with his face in full detail on the back, or perhaps a blood stain of such?
I also hope your prediction of a huge series being unveiled on the PC Store comes true. I need more LocoRoco.

#5 Yes, it better just to stay competitive (though the ipod, ect. doesn't so this could be a huge advantage to the PSP)
Everything else, I'm not holding my breath. I mean, it'd be great of course! However, Sony seems to either be short of talent or taking its time excessively, like custom music in-games, more downloadable DESIRABLE! PS1 titles (homebrew has already run these for a year) I mean, wouldn't a MGS:1 PSN release be a Killer App like Castlevania:SOTN, that $5.99 plus $39 Warhawk was why I bought my PS3/PSP combo!! Imho Sony needs to either cut or run with HOME already and then devote more time and talent to improving the PS3 & PSP interface options as well as developing truly polished "Killer Apps" (IE Killzone2(needs to)=Warhawk+COD4 to give MS/Halo/Quake ect. a run for its $$.
The limited edition bundles I've never understood, perhaps it is a Japanese thing? I would never buy a new system just for a custom paint-job.
And please, no more flops like LAIR Sony!! Its ok though I forgive you since Rondo of Blood and COD4 were so awesome!!

Sony had next to nothing to do with Call of Duty 4. Or Rondo of Blood, for that matter. They are called THIRD-party titles for a reason.
On an unrelated note, I checked out the Sony CES website as gpdrummer mentioned, and I nearly wet my pants with excitement. Skype is coming to PSP. Bloody HELL yes.

3 & 4 have the same chance of happening as a snowman has on the Sun.
#2: you guys know at least one title and I have my suspicions on another title.
#1: I doubt will happen. Sony doesn't care about the biggest game region, for it's run by people possessing backwards logic(i.e. small is big, last is first, deficit is profit, etc...).
#5 will happen in the summer.
The reason why Sony isn't releasing games such as Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil 3; is because they don't own those IPs(those are owned Square-Enix, Konami, and Capcom respectively).
@Muhammad M:
Sony, even with their backwards logic, will never put a harddrive in the PSP, it would take up to much room and use too much battery power.
Sony won't put a second analog nub on the PSP. It could be on the PSP's successor(along with R2, L2, R3, and L3).
DAX did find a line of text which refers to a new PSP model, which many people (myself included) believe it to be a Pandora-proof PSP.
The PSPhone Sony Europe will confirm it's existence, while Sony America denies it. Sony Ericsson will be announcing, making, and marketing it.

opensource enabled, hardrive included slim PSP2 with 2nd analog stick in 2009. Please? How long CAN you fight off teh hackers? make love not war...and let greedy capitolism prosper off the reaped benefits..It'll make the world a better place.
But really, what ever became of all the hard drive and 2nd analog stick rumors? and didn't hackers find a (kinda? sorta? maybe ?) clue about a psp 3.0 in the coding? and where is the expected PSPhone prediction?
yeh....IF sony adds a 2nd analog stick everyone will just complain for a R2 and L2 buttons....in time, in time

I was thinking about Widgets just yesterday. My memory card broke so I sent off for a new one. Just running around on GTA and playing around in the menu. Got me wanting some more built in features, or even a way to split that 64mb internal memory in 2 and use for save files.
A daydream. But since Sony didn't provide me with a memory stick with the Slim...

i think the widget think you mentioned would be the best feature. im not getting my hopes up though since that would be basically asking people to run pirated stuff on their PSP's. seriously, how long do it think it would be before someone made an NES Emulator widget and the like?
ill cross my fingers though. you guys are usually pretty good with your predictions ;-)
o and all the other predictions would be great also.

As much as I love loco roco, I hate downloading video games more.... I'd have to pass if they decided to make a game like that ps store exclusive. :-/
I don't see widgets happening...

If the Sony allowed us to download RE3 from the US Store, as they do the Japanese Store, then you'd have your RE game and, ideally, far more OOP Survival Horror: SH1, Alone in the Dark and Forbidden Siren 2, for example. (How they'd remap the controls on the cheap without frustrating users to the point of self-stabbing annihilation is an entirely different kettle of whistling disembodied lungworms.)
