- [Internet Radio] has been added as a feature under [Network].
- The importing of channels in OPML format is now supported under [RSS Channel].
- Photos can now be displayed under [RSS Channel].
- New effects have been added to the visual player under [Music]. Only one new visualizer has been added. It acts like a slow Etch-a-Sketch.
Note: To install an internet radio system to your system, you must follow instructions included in the new firmware. To access, click here. There are two internet radio systems available, each with its own stations. There are a huge variety of stations available, covering a number of genres (J-Pop and K-Pop included!). We hope to have a video hands-on tomorrow.

I like so far. I didn't have my PSP plugged in to an outlet when I installed the update. opps. its worked, but just a side note, when adding a radio player, have patience. its very slow right now. my system froze for a minute after I pressed the accept buttom and took a little while to install. And i guess its just a website, not an actual apps. the radio is very slow.

Why are some of the stations... not... english? I mean I clicked the 90s, 2000s, and Top 40 and the songs were in other languages... Ok, the Top 40 has a commercial on, and they guy is speaking German. WTF.

It says "Internet Radio" not "Stations that are inside the borders of my country Radio" ;)

yeah, most of the stations i have been getting have been french and a bunch of others from the EU.
I don't think i have gotten a single US station outside of the "80s" stations.

I'm noticing SIGNIFICANT increases in files access speeds. It used to take about 15 seconds to open up the Video folder on the XMB on my 2 and 4gb sticks, but now it's more like 5-7 seconds. Also noticing that they're re-arranged a little.
Can anyone confirm?

The internet radio is neat to mess around with, but it's hard to really explore effectively. Has anyone found a good goth or darkwave section?

as randomflashbang said, the radio is fairly well implemented but hard to find anything specific. You have to pick a genre, then manually skip through stations without really knowing whats coming up. Its a bummer because i was hoping to be able to search for specific stations, say if a friend had a shoutcast station setup you could tune in on psp wherever you were. The current setup seems to be based on popularity with no regard for language or anything else.

The update should work regardless of which version of the hardware you are using. There may eventually be updates that are Slim only, such as those that would take advantage of hardware not present in the original system, but so far I don't know of any.

Yes...it works on original.
I thought it was awesome...I usually listen to podcasts at night but I got to tune in to some freak US talk show host that I wouldn't normally get off the airwaves in Canada (Alex Jones).
BTW...why is there no 'sports' button? Is that uncommon on internet radio?

Oh, kick ass! You can listen to GCN now?!?!
I've been trying to get my PSP to recognize the Alex Jones RSS podcast since I got the damn thing out of the package. Hell, RSS and casts were the big feature that got me to purchase the thing then I can't get it to recognize any of the streams I want to listen to.
Can't wait to get home. I should've brought it to work.

There are no "rock" or "classic rock" buttons on either of the radios?!
Still pretty cool though.
