Vagrant Story is the only game that hasn't gotten some form of remake or sequel and with the release of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, it seems like it would be logical for it to return. On this idea, the Ivalice Alliance responds: "Vagrant Story was a title that pushed the PS one to its limits. The technical hurdles in porting it to the PSP would be extremely high. Of course, I think it's the next natural candidate for such an update, and there's no denying its extreme popularity overseas."
When asked if the hero, Ashley Riot, could appear in some other Ivalice title, there is a hint of a sequel if you're good at reading between these lines: "Even in Vagrant Story, there's really not that much we learn about Ashley Riot. Without knowing more about him, it would be difficult to include him in another title." We could learn more about him in, say, Vagrant Story 2: The Wanderer. Just an opinion.

oh great! I thought they have forgotten about the vagrant story! this is a game that really missing a sequel. I mean the game was great and the story hang half way in the PSOne version. Everything point it to a sequel!

what are they talking about "The technical hurdles in porting it to the PSP would be extremely high." it ALREADY RUNS on psp via eboot. its a great game... but come on, its practically 10 years old!~how about working on some new games, or just release it through the online store as an eboot but theyre just cashing in!~

This is one of the great games that Squaresoft made before they got bought out. So if this game could get a remake I am all for it. Just the other day I was thinking it would be cool to see a sequel to this game on the PS3 or even a remake. But A PSP version would also be cool. I love how you still hear the PSP has bad games but things like these are awesome.
I was also thinking about Threads of Fate and Parasite Eve. There really are some great games that are do to see a remake or sequel.

I hope they make a control scheme better than the emulator, because Vagrant Story's eBoot is a pain in the ass to play on the PSP (unless I have to go download something to make the controls completely customizable).
