We've just landed in Tokyo, getting ready for the Tokyo Game Show. Supposedly, Square Enix will have a few surprises regarding the Kingdom Hearts series tomorrow. The focus will be primarily on the handhelds, and according to 1UP, PSP owners can (hopefully) look forward to a prequel to the original PS2 fan favorite. The next iteration of the franchise, though, will most likely appear on a next-gen console, with PS3 very likely.Stay tuned -- we're sure to find out the true details soon enough.

Cool! Now they just need to give Kingdom Hearts PROPER gameplay which doesn't just consist of mashing the x button. In Crisis Core you can literally win most battles with your eyes closed mashing the circle button and the lock on system does the rest for you. -_-

Yeah, like Rouge Galaxy or Dark Cloud. They are the same Genre, but the combat is infinitely more intricate. Even if it was more like FFXII I would be happy.

@3 I like Rogue Galaxy Combat,. but the 2 kingdom hearts games were'nt just mashing the X button, and you Actually liked FFXII combat/gambit system i'm a Hardcore RPG specifically Final Fantays all the way but I hated FFXII and the combat/gambat system was one of the main reasons why

@5 As far as I can recall there wasn't a single moment in Kingdom Hearts where magic other than cure was in any way useful, summoning was pointless too. Kingdom Hearts 2 was worse - it was just mash the x button, watch a cutscene, mash the x button some more. I got bored of that after about 10 hours so I dunno if things get better. And FFXII's battle system pwns all, Shame on you!
I dunno if it's just because I've been playing Ikaruga too much lately but I'm fed up of these games treating me like a child.

Well with the rumors that are going around the PSP gets KH Zero, the PS3 gets KH3 and the DS gets chains of memories 2. So it looks like at this years TGS there will be lots of good games. Plus I hope for KH on the PSP Square-Enix uses the Crisis Core Engine.

well, it's just depends if you want to win the game in style or you just wanna to win the game. if you sucks you could just smash the button. Just like in MGS:PO you could just run to the objective point with buncha people chasing you or you could do it in style.

I gotta agree with most of you guys. Combat in KH is pretty crappy. Heck, I'd even prefer a classic FF turn-based system over that button mashing stuff (It would actually look pretty cool, now that I think of it).
Still, I sticked till the end on KH games because of the great cutscenes, graphics, and production values overall. I also enjoyed that "What character's gonna appear next" kinda feeling.
A PSP iteration of the game would be most welcome, but square, don't be mistaken: The combat IS broken and NEEDS fixing.
