Slowdown has been mostly eliminated -- this plagued the Japanese version and a heck of a lot of other PSP titles as well. We know the game has been fully voiced now, but we're kind of disappointed to see the introspective text on a black background get removed. How else will we know Ramza's innermost thoughts and feelings? An issue still remaining is the so-called "flattening" of the musical score, but we can probably get over that.
New features we'll at least mention are the multiplayer aspects where you can face off against a buddy or team up and explore special dungeons with set missions. These are ad-hoc only; no wireless online fun. Two new characters are made available to us: Luso from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 and Balthier from Final Fantasy XII. Don't ask how. Two new classes, Dark Knight and Onion Knight, are also available. The most important change is the complete re-translation of the text. It now sounds like something straight out of Vagrant Story or Final Fantasy XII, as it should. We can't wait to play one of our favorite classics again, especially since it sounds like the experience has been fleshed out into an almost completely new game.

No...wireless...online. ffs. You'd think it would come standard with SRPGs; both D&D tactics and Jeanne d'Arc scream for it, and Field Commander nailed it on the head, though load times still bogged that game down overall. Ad-hoc is great, but for PSP owners like me who don't know anyone else with a PSP, it's next to useless and confines our multiplayer experience to haggling with the numerous internet tunneling options that are available (XLink, etc.). Developers can always play the price card, and sure it's expensive to run a server, but that doesn't change the fact that Infrastructure play would make these games so much better.

I don't see how online play would work. Battling against other people's parties? Luminous Arc has that, not really all that fun.

Vagrant Story, now there is a game I would kill a puppy to play on the PSP. One of the best RPGs I have ever played, and Square never did anything else for it. It really is a shame.

It involves being a little naughty but if you're willing to kill a puppy I'm sure you're more than willing to try *hacked firmwares* to play the game on the PSPs in-built PSX emulator. Looks MUCH nicer on PSPs screen too.
I'll say no more since I don't really know pspfanboys stance on this kind of thing...
