The Magic Box recently stumbled upon new images of the upcoming PSP Aliens vs Predator game. It's coming from Rebellion, the same team behind the PSP-exclusive Star Wars Battlefront. It's hard to discern the quality of the game's visuals from these shots, but it's clear that Rebellion has some kind of love affair with PSP.
Supposedly, the game will be ready for for a December release in North America. [Update: Direct-feed screenshots from Sierra have arrived. Check them out in our gallery. And yes, this game is a PSP exclusive. Press release with more details, after the break!]
Sierra Entertainment, a division of Vivendi Games, today announced the development of a PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system exclusive, based on the new Aliens/Predator film, which Twentieth Century Fox releases nationwide on December 25. Designed solely for the PSP System, players will become the ultimate Predator, hunting down and eliminating the Alien species in the authentic universe of the Aliens/Predator movie. The game is being developed by Rebellion, creator of the original highly acclaimed Aliens vs. Predator PC game.
"We're pleased to once again partner with Twentieth Century Fox to deliver an engaging interactive extension to the film," said Al Simone, senior vice president, Global Marketing for Sierra Entertainment. "Pitting two of Hollywood's most popular and terrifying monsters against each other, the upcoming Aliens/Predator movie will provide a gripping gaming experience for not only fans of the film, but anyone with a PSP system."
Elie Dekel, Executive Vice President of Fox Licensing & Merchandising added, "The Aliens/Predator franchise is a crown jewel in the Fox portfolio and one of the most exciting properties for interactive content. Sierra Entertainment will create a game that will keep both fans of the films and avid gamers alike engaged for hours of immersive gameplay."
In this third-person action-adventure, players will be an elite lone Predator with an arsenal of exotic weaponry and equipment at their disposal. The game will give access to advanced technologies with the Predator's wrist computer including Pred-tech/thermal vision modes and cloaking, to track, stalk and annihilate both humans and Aliens. Both classic and completely new futuristic weapons such as wrist blades, laser trip mines and dual shoulder cannons will give players the ability to eradicate all traces of the Alien race. With co-op multiplayer mode players will be able to team up with friends wirelessly to play as the Predator's comrades, attempting to withstand hordes of attacking Aliens.
To add to the game's challenging features, an honor point system will evaluate the player's success based on how closely they adhere to the Predator's value system. The higher the honor achievement, the more weapon and armor upgrades available to the player.

AvP look good I wonder if there will be any
multi-player levels that you can play with infrastructure.
Also Alien I think AvP would use the 333MHz only because AvP comes out after Star Wars Battlefront and its coming from the same guys. So I would think it would use it.

The thing is, Sony has said that when the PSP uses it's network card it can't go to 333. So Battlefront technically can not be running at 333. AvP might, but only if it's one player. I'm not sure if they could do a 333 single player campaign, and a 222 mutiplayer mode. The latter would require lower graphical demands, so maybe less detailed backgrounds or special effects, or lower poly character models (which would be a shame).
In any case, given that the single player story has you play as only the Predator, a multiplayer mode featuring humans or aliens seems unlikely. If I went through the trouble of developing unique play mechanics, UI, etc, for Aliens or humans, I'd make sure that single-players were able to experience it as well.
Not sure how this will all develop, but I'm hoping for the best.

The devs at their dev blog have said that SW Battlefront: Renegade Squadron *will* use 333MHz for the single player part of the game:
http://blogs.ign.com/RenegadeSquadron/2007/08/10/62945/
"Mike R: The single-player portions of the game will indeed be using the full 333mhz. We are not allowed to use this in multiplayer (due to the power consumption of the Wi-Fi hardware), but rest assured that in both modes you'll experience a smooth framerate."
