Not to be left out of the Civ lovin', the PSP is getting a Civ fix in the form of the brand new rendition, Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution. The official press release is a bit loose on exactly which handhelds will be getting this title, saying only that Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution will be coming to "next gen consoles and handhelds." We think we can safely assume a Nintendo DS version will be dropping in tune with the Sony PSP's release but hey, why get the Nintendo version? (wink, wink). The game is said to have "extensive multiplayer capabilities" with "integrated video and voice chat." Voice chat on the PSP? Maybe not, but at least having "extensive multiplayer capabilities" and "downloadable content" should prove a worthwhile venture on the PSP, especially for Civ gamers on the go. 16 civilizations are making the grade here, with Sid Meier himself in the hotseat as lead designer. Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution is set for a Spring 2008 release, so we imagine it won't be much longer before we can share some screen shots. Stay tuned.

Haha while I'm all for PSP, that stylus on the DS could actually make things run pretty well in this type of game genre. *shruggs*

I'm with Dahk on this one....Civilization really would benefit from stylus control.
I look at my game collections for my PSP and DS and they are so different. PC-style strategy definitely falls under DS to me., like Age of Empires before it...
Now action games...I'll take my PSP...

I'm being dense... where is the part that says it is coming to the PSP? Does it mention the PSP somewhere and I am just completely missing it?

I would assume that the use of the words handhelds (see plural) would indicate a DS/PSP version (unless ZuneBoy is being released??)

Im not hateing on the ds, but most if not all games that come out on both handhelds the psp version is always better. Stylus control is nice but the screen and power of the psp has always made up for it.

Ryan: It varies - in *true* multiplatform games that come out for consoles as well, the PSP is pretty much *always* better (well, unless the DS version is completely different, such as Eragon, Spidey 3, Transformers ... where the DS version is better). But for action games - driving, sports, etc, the PSP always is much better since it is pretty much a scaled down PS2 version.
On handheld only games it is a bit different. How many are there, really? I dunno. But I think of Puzzle Quest - I have both versions and would be hard pressed to call one better than the other. The PSP has nice graphics and quick loads, but the DS has *no* loads and the controls are better suited to the timed challenge (only one of the special challenges is timed, so it isn't a big deal).
But for the rest - it is Civ ... on your PSP ... do you really even need to hear more? God of Wha? Crisis like I care any more - CiV on PSP!!! :)
