Hope you didn't just eat lunch.
Silent Hill: Origins is back, and it looks better than ever. Turn off the lights, get your security blanket, and snuggle up to these devilishly violent videos of the game in action. The game seems to have moved away from its
Resident Evil 4 inspired camera, while gaining some context sensitive action buttons. Of course, none of this analysis will really matter as you watch this bone-chilling footage.
Remember, kids. You have to be 18 or older to see footage from this obviously M-rated game.

LOL, probably because of the vest and the shirt.
it's really no different than the guy from Dead Rising. so, as long as it's a good game, i really don't mind

Looks absolutely fantastic. Gotta love the razor nurses.
GoW is big news, but I think this might be a contender for the top PSP game. Original, not a port and a hot hot HOT genre (survival horror).

A third-person shooter is only as good as its camera... and the camerawork in the Burning House doesn't impress me.

yeah the camera looked really annoying in the burning house. the battle mechanics also look a little loose when the main character was being ganged up on by the two nurses.
BUT it does have some of the most B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L grpahics I have ever seen on the PSP. wonderfully detailed and gives a very eerie look to the game.
...but I didn't get scared. was anyone else?

When you guys say third-person-shooter, I picture games with a solid shooting element along the lines of Socom; Syphon Filter; Splinter Cell (to an extent); Psi-Ops (PS2) - that kinda' stuff. Out of the survival horror games, RE4 was the exception as it introduced some solid third-person shooting elements to the series.
Silent Hill never seemed like a hardcore shooter, and even I had issues with the erratic camera from the first games. I personally would've liked mechanics along the lines of RE4 in this game, but this seems to play a lot like Silen Hill 1 - Action, Survival Horror more than a proper third-person shooter, so perhaps it won't be that bad. I doubt you'll be able to mess around with camera angles; it seems automatic just like the other Silent Hill games.

in all of these videos not a single gun was used, maybe they kepp the RE4 camera view for shooting.

It looked as though the Sledgehammer broke after so many swings. There was a plus sign on the picture; it was green on one video and yellow on the one in which the hammer broke. That's a totally new gameplay mechanic for Silent Hill! I loved it in Condemned when in your moment of need your trusty sledgehammer broke, your heart jumps and you think "oh crap, gotta find a weapon now!" Can't wait for this game.

Silent hill dosent play like a third person shooter is because it is a survival horror. it is a puzzle based genre with combat elements which are ment to be dificult to master as you are playing as a normal person not a trained oprative. Resi4 was an action game (check the box) not survival horror.
im so happy to see the shadows are still in the game. silent hill has the best shadows of any game going and they use lighting so well. still the darkness might be a bit off putting when playing on the psp on the bus or something because the one thing i hate about hand helds is their glare-o-rigic screans
i hope it has 3d type controals and not the 2d type you had to use in "the room" they know that game was a big mistake. i am also happy the old camera is back. the resi4 camera rip off would ruin the atmosphere of the game. i wonder if it will top silent hill 2, best survival horror of all time... mmm.. the jail scene, creepy stuff
