Ever since Sony Ericsson's Rikko Sakaguchi went on record saying a PlayStation Phone (also abbreviated PSP) was a possibility, the internet has been wild with speculation. Some fans have taken liberty to design their own, and some Chinese bootleg companies have also taken fancy at the idea. According to Spanish-language site Clipset, their "insider" reports that the next line of phones from Sony Ericsson will feature the Emmy Award-winning XMB, the same navigation system used by PSP, PS3 and other high-end Sony electronics.Theoretically, gaming could expand to the phones, creating a truly synergetic device. Because there's no verifiable source, take this rumor with a large grain of salt. However, if this does come to fruition, let's hope it's better than this. And this.

I think it would be great to have a subscription plan for PS1 games playable on the PSP and SE Phone. $10/month for all the portable gaming goodness you can handle. (With the option to buy on a PSP of course) Integrating this into a phone model could subsidize the price of the phone.

Wouldn't it be great if that never-to-be-released psp keyboard was released with the full QWERTY and included a SIM card slot, cellular recevier, 20GB hard drive an maybe even a camera. knowing mobile phone technology nowadays it wouldn't be so hard to all fit that into a little add-on only a few mm thick. now that would boost the psp's popularity!

A phone psp has the potential to outsell an iphone and a DS... but the psp phone can't go around costing 500 dollars either... has to cost around 249.99, and give it a touch screen, w/ bluetooth, etc...

Gawd damn it, get it through your thick skulls. A built in hard-drive on the PSP would be a bad thing for three major reasons.
Physically bigger size, shorter battery life, and higher price tag, the latter of which is complained about often enough.
Though I've noticed now, nobody seems to mention the battery life as being an issue as compared to when the system was first launched.
