While Monster Hunter Portable 2nd will surely topple the Japanese software charts next week, this week PSP had a near top-contender with Tales of Destiny 2, an enhanced port of the PS2 RPG classic. With Nintendo products simply dominating the charts, Sony may have to use the PSP as the platform to drive most of its software sales.
- Professor Layton and the Mysterious Town - 136,736 units sold last week (new entry / Level-5, DS)
- Tales of Destiny 2 - 73,022 (new entry / NamcoBandai, PSP)
- Bleach DS 2nd - 45,486 (new entry / Sega, DS)
- Death Note - 44,600 (new entry / Konami, DS)
- Soul Cradle - 43,253 (new entry / Nippon Ichi, PS2)

Is this the first time a PSP game made it to the Top 5 or 10 of the sales charts?

No , they made it many times , but not even far as much as the DS . Still , there are waaay more 3rd party games that reach that top on the PSP than the DS , so that means that the development wont die :D

It's kinda weird, but now that I remember, Tales of Eternia for the PS1 was brought over to the US as "Tales of Destiny 2". So I dunno how they'll fix that up. Oh, and I don't give a F bout DS or its sales.

where the hell are you getting your information from, i know for a fact that there has been over 9 million in software sales on psp in japan. And just because the psp isn't doing as well as the ds doesn't mean that it's dying.

Revdev is just another of many informationally bankrupt Nintentrolls peppering this and other Sony forums, spreading their special brand of anti-Sony FUD.
I knew when the DS started selling well that the militant Nintendo fanatics would be even louder and more obnoxious than usual - and it didn't take long.
