Critically acclaimed?!? It doesn't even make the 'Top 100' on MetaCritic's PSP list! And for good reasons, too!
That said - it is great fun, so what are you waiting for ... go download NOW!

I bought this game at Christmas time, the controls work just fine you just have to practice a little. I was strafing in no time. The graphics and sounds was Awesome, I only wish it would have been a little longer. If this game did not make MetaCritic's top 10 let alone the top 100 than he is a fool who should not be playing games, and for good reason too!
This game rocked!

MetaCritic is an aggregation site - they pull reviews from all sorts of other sites and average them up, sort of like GameRankings or GameStats. MetaCritic and GameRankings both show the game having a 71% average review score based on 23 & 24 reviews respectively.
I agree - my review at GamerDad was right in that range. Controls were inadequate but acceptable, campaign was way too short, and the overall experience was good but not great.

Gamestats average for this game is at 7.2, I still don't agree about the comment for good reason too, can you explain in deatail why you agree this game does not belong in a top 100. You gave some reasons, but the don't justify such a low rating. Let's not forget you can also play this game infrastructure mode which is uncommon for a FPS on the PSP so far. I have played FPS on pc's since the orginal Doom came out and this was the first FPS I have played on a portable. Saying that the controls worked out really well and I had great in game control. The Music I would also add was just about as cinematic as the PC version.
IMO I think G4 really nailed the review

Jeff:
The PSP excels at the type of slow-paced shooter style exemplified by SOCOM but doesn't do well at all with run-n-gun action such as Quake & Unreal style play. MoH on thePC was faster paced than the PSP can reasonably manage, but I think that the PSP version is pretty good regardless. The controls are generally good, but I found that turning was like steering a tank in a real FPS until I tweaked the turn rate to max, then it was acceptable. I could have liked that setting centered at where the game had the maximum, as turning was sluggish. The multiplayer is pretty solid and lots of fun, but it pales compared to SOCOM2 ... and the single player is really, really short - 4 hours? Heck, that's less than Half-Life 2 Episode One or SiN: Episodes!
As for the 'not in top 100', that is a simple matter of there being >100 games with aggregate scores higher than 71%. That isn't a bad thing - that just means there are tons of games in the 70's on the PSP!

I don't dispute the games shortcomings, just the initial comments towards the game. I honestly didn't feel that was a fair assessment of the game.
Question:txa1265
Did you beat the game in 4 hours on the hardest difficulty setting? My hat is off to you if you did as it took about that long on easy but going back through the game on hard and trying to get a better rating it is taking much longer for me. Fully completing all goals will take longer, but if you are running through just to complete a level then I can see it not taking nearly as long to beat, but then again you miss out on some of the fun and atmosphere the game has to offer.

Thanks Andrew! I hope that we can get more productive PSP-centric debate going (which doesn't preclude critical commentary) without DS-only trolls!
