Dream Games is a new weekly column where we explore a game we'd love to see on the PSP. Feel free to check in, and comment, every week.
Okami
Clover Studios' last masterpiece before they were shut down (God Hand doesn't count) didn't earn the sales that it deserved. The cel-shaded adventure game shared many similarities with Zelda (including the ability to play as a wolf), but had enough quirky Japanese originality to set it apart from the rest of the pack. It recently won IGN's Game of the Year award (to much controversy). Whether or not it deserved such a high accolade can be debated, but it's impossible to deny that Okami was still one of PS2's greatest.
Why PSP?
More people need to play Okami, and the PSP is the only handheld system capable of doing the series justice. Although the Celestial Brush would be incredible on the Nintendo DS' touch screens, the gorgeous animated scenery in Okami would end up being little more than a pixelated mess on the underpowered competition. Like the other Dream Games, Okami doesn't really require complex button combinations. The PSP is sorely missing a truly great adventure game: Okami would be a perfect fit.
Is it possible?
No. With Clover Studios dismantled, the chances of us ever seeing a portable version of Okami seems slim. And besides, shouldn't Capcom be working on a portable Resident Evil? Pretty please?

I think there is a chance to see ports of Clover Studio works on other platforms. For example Capcom Production Studio 4 made the original Viewtiful Joe for GCN but Clover Studio did the porting work for the PS2 version.
Having said that your reason that Okami needs to be ported to the PSP so more people can play the game is a little bit weird. Surely there are way way more people who already owns a PS2 than a PSP (I don't have statistics but I would think that most PSP owners owns/owned a PS2). Even once PSP exclusives has to be ported to the PS2 because sales aren't good enough.

Jeez, you write like Alien.
I forgot what the R2 L2 buttons do so I don't really know if it would work on the PSP but I do know that Okami on the PS2 had some framerate issues. Who knows how that would of turned out.
Other then that, yes Okami would be pretty awesome on the PSP. Okami is a wonderful game and everyone should of played it when it came out because it would of saved Clover studios. If bringing Okami to the PSP means more fans recognizing this great game then I'll say let this dream come true.

I don't think that this splendor should come to the PSP. Its just once again justifying that all the PSP is a machine for console look alikes and while it does have some nice original games I feel as if games of that sort ie. GTA are just.....useless.
Ah and Jon I believe that Capcom Production studio 4 and Clover are the same thing just a renaming of a team that had a generic name.

the psp needs a colorful zelda like game like this added on to its library which has a very weak rpg and story drivwen game line up. Esp since zelda is coming out on the ds not too long ffrom now. Since it didnt do too well on the ps2 I dont see why they wont port it to the psp.
