Vice City Stories to be PSP exclusive? Many doubted Rockstar, considering how Liberty City Stories made the jump to PlayStation 2. Well, looks like the doubters were right: A look at the ESRB website reveals a listing for a PS2 version of Vice City Stories. If it follows the footsteps of its Liberty City brethren, it will launch on PS2 for a measly $20, sans multiplayer.
Considering the relatively low sales of the latest GTA, it makes sense. Now, a whole new audience will be able to play with Phil Collins.

WTF? This better not be another bullshitted port, like LCS. I understand the crossover due to poor sales, but at least revamp it for the PS2. It's just kind of disappointing that Rockstar messed with another PSP exclusive.

A game becomes a port due the lack of sales,it has low sales because the people that want the game dont want to buy the system in which is currently on because that system best games are avalible as ports in other systems they currently have,so the people prefer to buy the lame port instead of the original game. That causes low sales on the original game forcing it to turn into a port.
And then the circle starts again....
Nice f***ing PSP support Rockstar, really damn nice.
It seems that vice city stories just feel into a vice circle.
Well is rockstar is making a port of this after swearing they wouldnt,i wonder if Kojima is doing the same with MGS:OPS and MGS4.
If that happens it seems i have a good chance of playing mgs4 on my x360 after all so i guess im going to save those 600$ i was going to spend on a Ps3 because "THE PORTS" TOTALLY SCREWED ANY DESIRE I WILL EVER HAD OF OWNING A PS3 BECAUSE THERES NO ORIGNAL GAME I WANT BECAUSE COMPANIES ARE TOO DAMN GREED TO STAY IN ONE F***ING SYSTEM.

MGS:PO would suck on the ps2, it lose the recruitment feature in the transition and that was one of the coolest aspects of the game

I also am mad to see this come out on the PS2. When GTA Vice City is 30 people buy it because that is not that high of a price and now that it will be on the PS2 most likely for 20 there is no way GTA is going to sell at 50 on the PSP. If Rockstar was smart they would have made the price 30 instead of 50. But no they want people to pay an arm and a leg.
So its to bad to see this nice game come out on the PS2. The only good news about this is that GTA Vice City now is going to have to sart selling for 20 or this game will not sell any more.

Another thing is why wouldn't anyone want a portable version of game? Especially one that was made for that system originally? I could have very easily gotten many games on the PS2 (Monster Hunter, Tekken, Lumines) but I didn't because I wanted these games on the go. I still do not regret any of the choices I've made.
I just don't get it. If these games just stayed exclusive on the PSP and if there are a lot of them (good ones too) people will buy a PSP to play them. I guess Rockstar doesn't seem to realize this.

Rockstar=/= Konami.
Kojima says explicitly that MGS4 is PS3 only, and furthermore the only other console he is interested in making games for is the Wii. He says he makes games to take advantage of consoles specific capabilities. MGS:PO will not be ported, because Japan loves it, and that is the only country that matters to Konami.
Back on the topic Rockstar has no reason to port it, if they waited it would broke a million eventually. There are of coarse reasons why people didn't pick GTA:VC up, such as: it having more noticeable glitches than its predecessor, more people waiting for it to become greatest hits, and having more competition for the consumers' money, due more good games for the PSP than last year.

There is a reason why I don't own an XBOX ... everything that is there will eventually ship for the PC, and I'm patient.
People who love GTA but don't want a PSP can just wait ... I remember laughing when I saw the original 'exclusive' statement - that word is being tossed around with little meaning these days.
It is unfortunate that GTA:VCS isn't selling that well - personally I really like it, even more than LCS (it isn't as good, but the music speaks to my college days ;) )

Uh, the ESRB listing for the game on PS2 is gone now. A search for it came up with only the PSP version.

One of the reasons it has poor sales is no doubt because people know all they have to do is wait for it to hit the PS2, save some $$, and play it on their bigger TV screen. So why buy the PSP version?
The PSP is desperately in need of real EXCLUSIVES because without them, what's the point of even owning a PSP?
Back when Liberty City Stories came out I talked to people who were tempted to buy a PSP just to play it, and while they were on the fence about it, Rockstar announced it was porting it to the PS2 and at $30 less. Well there goes any extra PSP sales.
