Remember when this movie was going to be the next big thing? August was an interesting month, especially for PSP news:
$149 PSP coming soon? CNN reports
Then: "The analyst expects that Sony will drop the price of the PSP to a mere $149, $50 less than what it is right now."
Now: While this would be a smart decision, Sony's still not budging from the $199 mark.
Fun = DS, not PSP, says EA exec
Then: "There's no doubt that EA has historically bet more on PSP. I think we were excited by the technology, but the consumers have proven that actually what they want is fun. We must never forget that what we need to focus on is fun and so EA is putting more effort behind DS games."
Now: EA may start supporting Nintendo more in the future, but with titles like Burnout coming in the future, it doesn't seem like Sony fans have to worry.
PSP on Snakes on a Plane
Now: The PSP was prominently featured in the film, which failed to make the impact that the blogosphere had predicted.
Rumor: PSP redesign coming before March 07
Then: "Well, a very believable scan of PlayStation Magazine seem to suggest that Sony's working hard on one, and it's coming very soon: March 2007, two years after the US release of the handheld."
Now: If a redesign is coming in three months, we'd know about it by now, wouldn't we? Or will Sony do a surprise launch? Keep an eye on this one.
New questionable PSP rumors surface
Now: It's interesting to note that all of the rumors came true, including the most specific one about the PSP Entertainment Pack. Guess some rumors are spot-on, huh?
DevHook reeled in by Sony?
Then: "The web host of DevHook has received a cease and desist order."
Now: The homebrew scene is stronger than ever. Many sites are careful about the kinds of files they host, although its not uncommon to find other sites providing some very questionable content.

sony phails? i dont think its a time to brag about soap. dont really get the point of this article. what happened to the bias where we only put up sales charts when it looks good ;). and complain about how our compeitors "gimmicks" are outselling the psp on a 4 to 1 ratio. anyways.................. gooooooooo mgs4 and portable ops... killer app? hopefully, would be a shame if such shiny consoles didnt last as long as they could.

well actualli i doubt that the psp will be sellin for $150 in stores, definetly on ebay and previous owners, but $150 is a huge drop. I think the most it will go down to is around $170, and maybe the refurbished psp's would be $160. EA games, well idk about them, why would they support the DS when they can make way better games for the psp. with the DS you have to focus on a younger audience, while the psp you can have lottz of gore, violence and basically, everything you see in gta. O yea and actualli the psp, if i recall was spoke of in the movie, Final Destination 3, (the most recent one) in it, at the outdoor funeral the only "colored" guy in the movie said if he dies, bury him with a psp or sumthing so he doesnt be bored to "death", lol. A new Redesigned psp coming out by March is possible, but i think it will probabli be announced in March, than released so soon. I think it may be released in May. Oh and actualli if u think about it, all of the rumors that are mentioned on psp/ds related sites, i believe are definetly in observation by sony n nintendo. they get a whole lotta ideas from our comments, and can make a fortune on hearing what we want to see. Here's one for you Sony: Make it possible to download PsOne games without the use of a ps3, and allow us to use our cpu's. And yea i do know that there is a custom 3.02 firmware, but still come on. Lastly, Sony, you can't be a superhero and try and remove all crime (homebrew, hehehe) instead why not continue coming out with better firmwares, other than security patches, how about calendar functions, n note pads, the ability to have gif. images, and have wma. song files. If they did this, and came out with better firmware, maybe people might stop homebrew. (who knows, homebrewers can get tired of doing the believed to be impossible, lol)
