Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops currently stands as the best PSP game of the year, at least according to PSP Fanboy readers. So, it should come as no surprise that this fully-featured PSP-exclusive sequel is selling well. In fact, according to Jeux France, it appears as if Kojima's latest has sold 100,000 copies in Japan... in day one alone. (Cue lame joke from a DS fanboy: "there are that many PSPs in Japan?!")There's no doubt that the US version is also selling quite briskly. Hopefully, these sales are good enough to warrant a sequel, as previous promised. The game's now available for US blokes, and is coming next year for the European territories.

They say that the psp is dead in Japan... nothing like a great game to help sale PSPs. Sony needs to start pushing this game in Japan... HARD

Wow, 100,000 units?! That's, like, as many 360's that were sold because of Blue Dragon, and we all know how well the 360 is doing over there.
Great job, Sony.

A sequel would really Rock and it would be sweet if it was to come out at the same time as Metal Gear Solid 4 and both games link up to each other to unlock different things. Plus may be you could use the PSP as a special weapon or some thing. That would be cool.

And 100,000 units of 360 were NOT sold due to Blue Dragon.
360 sold 30K one week then 17k the next. Thats not 100,000.
Learn how to add up as well as read.

Killbloggers: I would look up Blue Dragon's first day sales numbers. IF you want to know how many have been sold over a few weeks, I would suggest you learn2read.

Hm. How are sales in the US right now though. I'm thinking about picking up a copy, but one thing that would suck is if nobody else in the area has a PSP or does but doesn't have a copy. Oh well, that's what the online is for right?
