Has anyone else noticed the incredible amount of negative PSP news the last few weeks? Yeah, me too. Well, in hope of possibly changing that a bit, I bring you news of D Gundam G Generation Portable becoming the best one-week selling PSP game ever in Japan.According to Media Create, the game sold more than 150,000 copies in its first week and was the best-selling game for the week of its release. Gundam knocked New Super Mario Bros. on its ass, outselling it by more than 55,000 units. Yeah, so what if New Super Mario Bros. has been out forever? We need something to cheer about, damn it. Whoo hoo!

Any word on the porting of this to the USA? I remember the good old days with Godzilla, Ultraman & Gundam games on the Super Famicom/SNES... Even the SD volleyball game was cool.
Impressive that a PSP game can overcome Super Mario - goes to show, the PSP still has a lot of units sold out there and can still 'get up' if it gets some huge smash hits.

Of course it's not old, Andrew. This news is Gundam being the fastest selling one-week PSP game ever. I even linked to your previous article on the game chart.

Too bad you didn't reconsider cluttering the comments with PSP bashing tripe.

As much as I know this won't be ported to USA / English. And that's too bad. I tried it out and even if I didn't understand anything from the story or the menus the game was still great. :)
It reminded me a lot of Advance Wars from the GBA which I loved. And which still needs a viable "replacement" on the PSP. No, not Field Commander...

I don't know what critics have been saying about this game but I have feeling that its success has to do with its brand more then the game itself. Same goes for Mario, Brain Age, Madden, etc. Thats how the world works.
