Joystiq's Robert Summa sat down recently with John Koller, senior product manager for Sony's PSP, in hopes of sifting through the recent outbreak of bad press, getting some real facts and finding out what we should expect in the future.
Joystiq: Tell me about the latest firmware update coming to the PSP?
Summa: What this latest version [2.80 out this Thursday] is going to include is video RSS so you can save video channels to your Memory Stick and also there is going to be an available download of World Tour Soccer. And, of course, we've got the usual security patches included.

I love that 'just rolled out of bed' look he's got going on.

I thought he fielded some pretty harshly and unprofessionally-worded questions with (some) fairly straightforward answers - with a smattering of the usual corpo-speak.
I'm inferring they're working on a refresh of the PSP, perhaps similar to the reworking the DS got. Good - I'd much rather upgrade to a revised model and not have to chuck my old games. I hope they can manage a 2007 launch for it.
