Call it viral marketing, rumor mongering, or just plain boy-who-cried-wolf-ing, but it's been revealed
that the next iteration of the PSP will come with a video and still camera that will also allow for streaming live
video to the PS3. The article adds even more fuel to the PSP2 rumor fire by stating that the apparently improved model
will be a quarter-inch shorter than the existing PSP and will come in three colors: white, black, and silver. The PSP2
will also ship with a packet of magic pixie dust which will take your fondest wish of being a fairy princess and make
it come true. We made up that part about the magic dust, but we had a good reason. Before you get all touchy and accuse us of spreading lies, it should be noted that the news was provided by an "anonymous source". For all we know, this "source" could have been someone's fortune-telling great-aunt, so we're more than willing to recommend that this bit of information be taken with copious amounts of salt.
In light of the avalanche of PSP2-related gabbery these past weeks, our take at this point is if the news isn't coming directly from Sony, it should be treated as nothing more than rumor and speculation.
[Thanks, Tip]

-- NEWS FLASH --
The PSP2 will come with a touchscreen and will be compatible to GameBoy Advance games. Additionally, it'll come in one famous color: shitty brown-yellow-ish that ought to be white. The new display will be 2" wide and will have at least 3 dead pixels, which will be a total of 20%. The price tag is around three dollars and fifty cent.

Thats it they're already talking psp2 i'm selling mine and getting a gp2x. I refuse to by a umd movie, i have to but thos aweful memory stick pro duos.I only own 3 games anyways one of witch i only use for homebrew after beating and another that is a collection of old games that i can easily emulate now, the web browser sucks and i don't see them adding any decent software to it in the future. the only reason i might hold on to it is if a gps attachment does actually come out.

Naw. I still believe what most people have seen or even "rumored" to see is a new PMP player with on-board memory from Sony. I could see how one would be confused to think it would be a PSP2 (directional buttons, 16:9 screen, headphone jack, even maybe a UMD slot).
IF Sony did create a PSP2, I mean a completely new device with new features in just over a year, it would be utter suicide. It would enrage current PSP owners, and scare everyone away from the PS3.
Too many changes on the release of a new console? No one would touch it for fears of vaporware, and everyone would dump the current PSP on Ebay.

I would _seriously_ appreciate it if Sony would just step up and say "No, we are not planning a new PSP any time soon." perhaps they just see rumour as being harmless, but the amount of people getting upset at the moment (I included) can not be good for them.
