Switched On's Ross Rubin has a great article on the nitty-gritty of the PSP Media Manager, an offering that's only now showed Sony's intention at making media intergration with the PSP more robust. Thanks for finally joining the party, Sony.
Sony's glaring neglect of providing ample software support for its portable console has long been considered a sore spot, and while Ross speaks positively about the PSP Media Manager, even going so far as to highlight features like a web feed reader and podcast support, the mere notion that the app isn't available for free (given that the only people who'll potentially use it are PSP owners anyway) is a misstep for an otherwise stable product.
What's the deal Sony? We're happy with finally getting a first-party app that can move content to our PSPs, but why are you charging $20 for something that's supposed to be included with the console in the first place?
